Michele Sherman is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been a practicing psychotherapist for the past fourteen years. She received her Master's Degree from Ryokan College in Los Angeles, and her Bachelor's Degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies, in San Francisco.
In her private practice, Michele works with individuals, adults, adolescents, couples and families. Her specialties include working with adolescent and adult emotional disorders, depression, anxiety,trauma,eating disorders and various relationship issues.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in establishing relationships with her clients, in order to facilitate a sense of safety and trust. Michele respects an individuals perspective, she believes with insight, support and consistent effort changes can be made that improves a person's quality of life with themselves and other people.
Michele devotes significant time to addressing the diverse needs of youth, adults and families. In her work with families, she empowers parents with practical techniques that when implemented, facilitates renewed confidence in their abilities to manage & resolve conflict. Michele has extensive experience in working as a school based therapist. Through collaboration with both educators, school administration and parents, she integrates and promotes effective strategies aimed towards motivating students to work towards their potential.
Mrs. Sherman, has an ongoing eating disorder support group. Michele utilizes different techniques like art therapy and relaxation techniques to help her client’s further their healing process and develop more creative expression in their lives.
